Frequently Asked Questions

What is an EASI REDI-Mix Truck?

An EASI REDI-Mix Truck, a concrete mixer truck or transit mixer, is a heavy-duty truck with a rotating drum that continuously mixes concrete during transport. This keeps the mix workable until it reaches the job site.

Are there only new EASI REDI-Mix Trucks for sale?

No. EASI REDI-Mix Trucks offers brand new EASI REDI-Mix Trucks right off the line directly from the factory or any number of dealers around the country, we also have a refurbished inventory. Please contact sales for details.

Does EASI REDI-Mix Trucks offer a refurbishing service?

Yes! EASI REDI-Mix Trucks provides full service fleet refurbishing upon request.

What sizes of concrete mixer trucks does EASI REDI-Mix Trucks offer?

EASI REDI-Mix Trucks manufactures both Conventional and Booster Trucks with mixing capacities of 10 cubic yards, 10.5 cubic yards, 11 cubic yards, 12 cubic yards, and 14 cubic yards.

What is the difference between the Conventional and Booster Trucks?

The primary difference lies in their hauling capacity. A Booster Truck features an extra, retractable axle (called a “boost-a-load” or tag axle) that can be lowered to the ground to legally distribute heavy weight. This allows the truck to carry up to 11 to 14 cubic yards of concrete per trip, whereas a Conventional Truck is usually restricted to 8 to 10.5 cubic yards.

Does EASI REDI-Mix Trucks offer customization?

Yes! EASI REDI-Mix Trucks will customize builds to fit your requirements, such as safety features, attention grabbing paint, and graphics/decals.

How does EASI REDI-Mix Trucks make loaded transport safer?

EASI REDI-Mix Trucks makes loaded transport safer by using a mixer with a lower center of gravity. That makes for less chassis roll, longer suspension life, and better stability. Our mixer’s lower center of gravity is achieved through a smaller diameter drum head and longer cone and cylinder sections, which allow us to place the mixer lower in the chassis.

Do standard concrete mixer trucks perform the same as EASI REDI-Mix Trucks?

No. With a paving drum utilizing a 46″ discharge and a 20% larger discharge hopper running at a 45° angle, EASI REDI-Mix Trucks unload and wash down at the faster rate our customers need for their most demanding jobs.

How long do you have to pour the concrete?

Concrete has a strict “shelf life” or working time, typically ranging from 60 to 90 minutes after water is added. Because of this countdown, drivers operate on a strict schedule. If there are severe traffic delays or the job site is unprepared,
the concrete can harden and become unusable. To buy more time, companies can use chemical retarders to slow down the curing process.

How much concrete can a truck hold?

EASI REDI-Mix Trucks typically hold between 10 and 12 cubic yards of concrete. For larger jobs requiring the largest concrete deliveries possible, EASI REDI-Mix Trucks also manufactures a concrete mixer truck with a 14 cubic yard EASI Drum.

Is there a difference between redi-mix and ready-mix concrete?

No, there is no functional or material difference between ready-mix and redi-mix; they are exact synonyms for the same pre-blended concrete. The only difference is the spelling.
